Development Hour
Lake Washington Masters is excited to announce a new addition to our program: Development Hour!
Development Hour is an effort to open the sport and the program to newer and less experienced swimmers. Our goal is to expand swimming knowledge and proficiency for swimmers of all skill levels. This is a great opportunity for swimmers who are interested in advancing in the sport, but are hesitant to join the Masters program based on skill level. We will be learning how to read and understand a swim workout, how to use interval training, learning and fine tuning all 4 competitive strokes, and much more.
Development Hour will take place at 11:45 Monday through Friday at Redmond pool alongside our normal practice. There will be two coaches on deck each day to ensure everyone is given proper attention. The first 10 minutes is a self-led warm-up, then there will be a 20-30 minute lesson, and finally a 35-45 minute workout. Development Hour is designed as a stepping stone for swimmers who can already swim at least 100 yards continuously and complete roughly 1500 yards over the course of an hour. If you’re unsure whether you meet this benchmark, feel free to reach out and we can help assess fit.
This program will be limited to 8 weeks, beginning July 7 and ending August 29. If there is a high demand, we may continue Development Hour after moving back to Juanita.
